How do I get started?

  • Fill out the interest form!

  • Set up an intro lesson!

We are so excited to be a part of your horse-y journey!!

The first thing you can do is fill out an Interest Form! This will give us a better idea of who YOU are!

Then, you can take a look at our calendar, see what time works best for you, and set up an intro lesson!

If you don't see a time that works for you, let us know and we'll see what we can do! We have a limited time/day for intro lessons, but we sometimes have more times available for our regular lesson students! So when you're ready to enroll we will look at the calendar again and find a time that best suits the barn's (horses/instructors availability) and your schedule!

What can I expect at an intro lesson?

We will meet at the office, and sign a release form. Everyone on property must sign a liability waiver!

You will meet an instructor, and do a brief barn tour, then meet the horse you'll be riding!

The instructor will help groom and tack up (put the saddle on) and then you'll ride!

Some students may be too nervous to ride, we will work with them but we are also able to do leading exercises where the student can lead one of our horses through an obstacle course and get more comfortable being around horses.

We will go over lesson package options, goals and availability.

When do you offer lessons?

We teach Monday - Saturday. The horses have off on Sundays.

Our schedule varies as it fills up and students move up the levels and into semi private and group lessons.

Your best bet is to get on the schedule for an intro lesson and then we can look at the full availability from there! Here's our intro lesson calendar! :) https://link.nextlevelhorsebusinesses.com/widget/bookings/intro-calendar-wsec

Do you offer private lessons? Group lessons?

Yes and yes! We start all of our student in private lessons. As our students work through our unique levels program, where they gain horse knowledge and skills, they can move up into group lessons. This tend to work perfectly with building riding muscles to ride longer and honing the skills to ride with others!

Prices do not change for private/group lessons instead we structure our lessons as follows.

Private Lesson (1 student) : 30 minutes

Semi Private Lesson (2 students) : 45 minutes

Group Lesson (3+ students) : 1 hour

We provide all of the horse's tack and equipment, which adds up to thousands and that's before we count the horse's cost and ongoing care!

We ask that students provide their own equipment including: Helmet, Boots and Long Pants!

  • Students must provide their own helmet!

  • Students must wear BOOTS with a short HEEL

  • Students must wear LONG pants to ride!

(If student does not have the necessary safety gear student will do an unmounted lesson in place of their riding lesson)

What are unmounted lessons?

At Wide Stride Equestrian Center we believe in creating horse-people not just riders!!

Unmounted lessons are where you build your horse knowledge and skills on the ground, instead of on the saddle.

Here are some examples of topics:
